National Treasure 2: The Holy Grail.

-       Languedoc 1944. Adler, with French resistance contact, and Vektor, Hitler’s favourite commando and leader of Jagverband special forces unit, with SS von Salza regiment, are on the trail of Otto Rahn, Himmler’s Ahnenerbe grail expert, to find the holy grail. Rahn died in mysterious circumstances in 1938 in Tirol; supposedly a suicide, but he fell out with the SS and became an embarrassment to Himmler as he was a gay drunk esoteric-minded Jew. Adler believes rahn found the grail and knew its location but did not inform his bosses as he hated the SS and did not trust them with the grail’s power. He believes the grail is an ancient crystal, or stone, an antediluvian technology with planet busting capability. He has been assigned by FDR and George Marshall (secdef), both masons with occult interests, to look for the grail and find it before the SS under vektor does. Castles, caves, mountains, forests of Languedoc. They have a shootout at a castle (monsegur?); Adler loses, either he’s captured, or he’s forced to retreat, and Vektor gets away with the grail. Adler bitterly resents the defeat and vows revenge.

-        Prologue, 1942. The Holy Grail in the Languedoc, in a cave near Montsejur. The OSS at the behest of FDR race against the Ahnenerbe to discover the location of the grail.- Present day. Stanley Goodspeed, coming out of retirement, is searching for the Grail. He starts at the church mentioned in Holy Blood, Holy Grail, which contains clues and symbols, leading to Montsejur, the former Cathar castle. There could be a riddle in the pillar of the church. The modern-day opposition would be a group of Satanists, who have the aim of performing an occult ritual with the Grail. The monastery on Mount Tibidabo would make a good filming location. The trail leads to Glastonbury, particularly the area around Glastonbury Tor. There were two grails: one connected to the Languedoc, the other connected to Glastonbury and Joseph of Arimethea. One was for the blood from the wound, the other was the drinking vessel at the last supper. There could also be a plot device of fake grails with a switcheroo. Could segue.
