Obesity

Obesity and modern ‘junk food’ are often blamed for a lot of chronic illnesses but worrying about what you eat is far more dangerous and leads to fat gain and related diseases via the nocebo effect. Junk food in itself does not make people fat because there are those – typically, ectomorphs – who eat plenty of junk food without doing much exercise who nonetheless don’t gain weight. For example, I eat waffles, ice cream and fries, and drink fruit juice and soda on a regular basis but am not overweight. Metabolism can be controlled by the mind, as can fat storage. People expect to gain fat by eating certain foods, so they do, because of their beliefs, engendered by reading health-related articles, watching popular science shows and expectations derived from their parents’ and family's build.

Insulin production, fat cell storage, ghrelin and leptin determine how much fat is stored in the body. Ghrelin controls hunger and leptin regulates satiety, and both are controlled by the hypothalamus, in the brain. The Autonomic nervous system also regulates insulin secretion, and that is controlled by the brain. Because fat storage is determined by the brain, which merely reflects what is going on in the mind, especially deep beliefs, the key to losing weight is not so much to diet or exercise, but to simply believe that ‘fatty’ foods or eating a lot will make you overweight or obese, don't fear getting fat, don't think about it too much, avoid or disregard articles and TV shows linking certain foods with weight gain, ignore the whole complex and move on with your life, focusing on the tasks of the day and eating what you like, within reason; it's generally a good idea to stop eating when you're full and not completely overindulge.

Ozempic works by suppressing ghrelin and reducing hunger. Of course diets and exercise can be effective for weight loss, but there is a risk of turning them into placebos and becoming dependent on the placebo. A placebo is a sham treatment that isn't changing anything on a physical level but works because people believe it will work. When you believe eating less or eating a certain kind of food makes you slim and see yourself getting results by obeying your own rule, then breaking that ‘rule’ will result in undesirable (nocebo) effects. To be totally free of the whole 'fear of fat complex' it is necessary to simply eat what you want, and not avoid certain 'fatty' or sugary foods out of fear of what it might do to your body. Of course, this approach isn't for everyone; if you have diabetes and aren't totally convinced, then you're better off sticking with conventional methods like Ozempic, running, diets, 'health foods', exercise etc. There is another pharmacological solution for obesity – excess energy can be stored in the body as fat for later usage via triglycerides, the main form of stored fat in the body. Treigclycerides are comprised of one glycerol molecule and three fatty acids, and these are stored as an energy reserve. The solution to this on a chemical level is to simply use pre-programmed DNA nanobots to produce lipase enzymes via protein synthesis and translation. These enzymes break down exccess triglycerides, preventing excess fat storage in the body, without interfering with hunger and satiety. Alternatively, a drug containing lipases targeted at breaking down triglycerides may well be effective at preventing fat storage.
